INK Arts Festival Awards 2016 for the "Award Of Excellence For Arts & Culture Development In The Community
" award.
You may be asking "but why for that category?", well
Daddy Flexy is not only a rapper, dancer and music producer but also the man that started and groomed the hip hop dance in Lindelani.
He grew up as a big Micheal Jackson fan and his love for hip hop started in the early year 2000 when he moved to Mariannridge, a coloured dominated neighbourhood with a lot of hip hop influence. He started dancing on his own without any proffessional assistence and managed to be one of the greatest dancers in Durban. 3 years later he moved back to Ntuzuma township (Lindelani) and started hip hop dance movement where he recruited old friends and started a rap and dance crew called White Knights (now known as Warrior Knights Dance Crew).
To date he has taught, groomed and shaped a number dancers from Lindelani, Inanda and Pinetown who are now international performers and is still grooming more talent along-side his fellow Warrior Knights dance members at Mandlakazulu School and looking to take them far with hip hop dance and the lifestyle as a whole.He grew up as a big Micheal Jackson fan and his love for hip hop started in the early year 2000 when he moved to Mariannridge, a coloured dominated neighbourhood with a lot of hip hop influence. Daddy Flexy's nomination is Lindelani's nomination and his win is the community's win.
